The Federal Public Defender for the Central District of Illinois represents citizens accused of federal crimes in the Central District of Illinois who cannot afford to hire a lawyer.  Our office is appointed by the court to represent our clients.  Our office also represents individuals appealing their convictions in the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  In this capacity, our office represents individuals appealing their convictions from any federal district within the Seventh Circuit upon appointment by the Court of Appeals.
